“The Refuge of Dreaming Swans” developed out of the idea of a magical refuge inside the dreams of fairy tale animals.
Friends and strangers who have lost homes from fires, from floods, from climate change disasters. Stranded animals and abandoned dreams. People displacedby war and failing empires. Perhaps the only safe harbors left are the magical spaces, the dream spaces,the imagined countries of fairy tales, where magic animals guide us through the quiet and poetic dimensions that exist in all of us. These spaces can’t be obliterated by morons or monsters. They don’t know the secret words.
