Bring the ocean to life with this vibrant jellyfish art from Camille Rose Garcia!
I invite you to imagine the aquatic lore of celestial oceans beyond our own planet . "Song of The Medusae" is a piece from Camille Rose Garcia's art exhibit, "Nereids of Mare Medusae", which debuted at Roq La Rue Gallery in Seattle in 2022. This series explored the concept of sea nymphs on other ocean planets speaking in a language of music. These otherworldly nereids have a variety of magical musical instruments, which they use to make symphonies that create the world around them. The instrument pictured here is based on a Glass Armonica, whose unusual transparency mimics the bells of the jellyfish. We actually have two ocean moons in our solar system, Jupiter's moon Europa, and Saturn's moon Enceladus. Their oceans reside inside these lonely moons, surrounded by a thick crust of glittering white ice.
