This was inspired by Ernst Haeckels sublime studies of radiolaria - tiny ocean creatures that form intricate radial patterns.
This started as a pencil study of form, then evolved to a color study with the addition of watercolor. Finally, at the end, the details are highlighted with gold watercolor. I use these studies as little ideas for bigger paintings, but they are also little gems of their own.
